Oxygen Gas Sensors
(O2)
Oxygen sensors are used in oxygen analysers, which find extensive use in medical applications such as anaesthesia monitors, respirators and oxygen concentrators. Oxygen sensors are also used in hypoxic air fire prevention systems to continuously monitor the oxygen concentration inside the protected volumes.
Oxygen sensors are also used in transport vehicles. The sensor is part of the emissions control system and feeds data to the engine management computer. The goal of the sensor is to help the engine run as efficiently as possible and also to produce as few emissions as possible. The oxygen sensor is an instrument for controlling the exhaust emissions of petrol, diesel and gas engines. It is an oxygen concentration sensor which measures the residual oxygen content of the exhaust gas and then transmits a signal to the engine control unit in the form of an electric voltage.
